I Do.

Four years. It’s been four years since Cody and I got married. It’s flown by. Although there were moments, days, weeks, and months that seemed like it was never going to end. I can thank the Army for those times. But they passed, we have been reunited. We have done the ‘for better for worse’. We have done the poor and poorer (I swear we could make it through the richer…if someone wants to give up a few billion and test that theory we’ll be more than happy to take that challenge). Every year I look at pictures of us over the years. It was last year that I realized I’m *usually* always on the same side of pictures. Sometimes I e-mail pictures to show him the evolution of us.

Because four years ago we did this:

I want to tell you all our entire history. About how we kissed for the first time a week before we got married. How we fell in love far away from each other. About how we met in Germany a few weeks before he left for a year deployment. I want to tell you all about us. But next month I am going to do a whole love series. And then I will retell the story of….well….us.

But you can rest assured, we’ve made up for all the kisses

I am grateful to have a man by my side who doesn’t turn his back on me and our family. Who fights for me and us when I am unable to. Who not only defends our family, but our country. I am proud of him. I am proud of us. I am proud to say that even when times got tough we leaned on God. When we were going through the worse, we focused on the better. When we had nothing but an air mattress and a tv on the floor…we made the most of it. And I am so happy to have a man by my side who tells me he loves me, kisses me on the forehead in the morning when I’m sleeping, and gives and gives of himself time and time again.
