When was the last time you wrote a letter? Sat down with a pen and paper and wrote a note to the one you love, the one you like or even the one you hate I suppose? E-mail, IM & social networking sites are the main form of written communication these days. But what if you were on the other side of the world, in a location that hadn’t yet gotten computer communications set up? Or if you were in said place constantly moving around and never knowing when you would be able to see a phone…much less a computer. I bet you’d find the lost skill of writing a letter.
Unfortunately stationary is a much needed item for the soldiers that are serving overseas. Letters home are instead written on scraps of paper that can be found. When the letter is received by their loved ones they are so incredibly grateful for the communication that no matter how it comes it’s appreciated. But this is where Stationary for Soldiers plans on making a difference.
I have teamed up with “The Mother” at Little Boy Green to collect stationary that will be sent to units that are in locations that even the reaches of the internet don’t make it to. Such a small effort to help a really big cause.
How can you help? Donate Stationary. I don’t know about you, but I have random blank cards, pretty paper with matching envelopes and box sets of awesomeness that don’t get use these days (I wrote a letter a day to Cody when he was gone, I stocked up. WAY up).
Simply gather your unused stationary and send it to:
